The XI Photo Contest of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most Beautiful Country" (hereinafter referred to as the Photo Contest) is held in order to draw attention to the issues of Russia's natural and historical and cultural heritage, foster patriotism and respect for the environment through the art of photography.

The organizer of the Photo Contest "The most beautiful country" is the All—Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society" (OGRN 1037858010970, TIN 7812011023) (hereinafter referred to as the Society).

The organizer of the Photo Contest is the copyright holder of the MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY trademark (certificate for trademark (service mark) No. 596181, registered in the State Register of Trademarks and Service Marks of the Russian Federation on November 24, 2016).

The organizer of the Photo Contest:

Sets the terms and rules of the Photo Contest;
-
Appoints the Expert Commission and the Jury of the Photo Contest (hereinafter referred to as the Expert Commission, Jury).

Acceptance of works for the Photo Contest begins on January 20, 2025.

The photo contest is held in 4 (Four) stages:
-
1st stage "Acceptance of works" — from January 20, 2025 to March 31, 2025
-
Stage 2 "Selection" - the work of the Expert Commission begins on March 1 and ends on April 16 with the evaluation of all photos that meet the conditions of the competition.
The works that received the highest marks from the members of the Expert Commission are eligible for the next stage of the competition — the "Semi-finals".;

The 3rd stage "Semi—final" is an in—person meeting of the Expert Commission, at which the finalist works of the competition will be determined;
-
The 4th stage of the "Final" is a meeting of the Jury members (the date will be indicated on the websites of the Photo Contest photo.rgo.ru , photo-children.rgo.ru ) or the absentee voting of the Jury members.

The results of the Photo Contest are published on the websites of the Photo Contest photo.rgo.ru , photo-children.rgo.ru (hereinafter referred to as the Photo Contest sites).

This Provision is an offer that is accepted by the participant of the Photo Contest at the time of uploading photos/ videos to the website of the Photo Contest.

The participant of the Photo Contest, in accordance with Article 434 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, acknowledges and agrees that the written form of the transaction (posted by the Company on the website of the Photo Contest (photo.rgo.ru , photo-children.rgo.ru ) of this offer, which contains, among other things the license agreement and the acceptance of this offer by the participant of the Photo Contest by uploading a photo/ video clip to the website of the Photo Contest), is considered fulfilled.

Images that reflect grandeur and scale, either chamber-like, idyllic and pastoral, full of colors and emotions, or melancholic.
The presence of urban elements in the frame is allowed only in exceptional cases, as compositionally justified details, but not as the main subject of shooting.

Wild animals.
Vivid moments from the life of wild animals in their natural habitat. Photographs of all animals, with the exception of birds, are accepted for the nomination.

Birds.
Stories from the life of wild birds, their beauty, interaction with each other and the environment.

The magic of the elements.
Natural phenomena in all their diversity and beauty. Images of storms and thunderstorms, snowstorms and snowfalls, ice drift and floods. Shots filled with dynamics and emotions, the powerful energy of our planet, making us bow to the greatness of nature and the power of the elements. Photographs that are not taken by humans or animals, but by the elements that have become a source of inspiration for the photographer. It is allowed to compositionally and situationally justify the presence of people or animals in the frame, but not as the main subject.

180 Wonders of Russia.
The nomination is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society.
Photographs depicting natural and man-made objects that are the property of Russia and are mandatory to visit, according to the author, for every resident of the country.

Russia in person.
An ethnographic portrait of the peoples of Russia. Large-scale portraits of people are accepted for the nomination. The nomination demonstrates the diversity of the peoples living in our country, their characters and images.

Live archive.
Modern photographic compositions that repeat archival photographs.
On the special page of this nomination, the participants of the Photo Contest are provided with a set of photographs of Russia at the end of the 19th century— the first half of the 20th century from the archives of the Society and the archives of the nomination's partners.
The Photo Contest accepts modern shots taken in the same place, if possible from the same angle as the corresponding archive photos.
In addition, the contestant can independently upload archived photographs and modern photographs based on them.
However, in this case, two conditions must be met simultaneously — to be the author of modern photography.,

The selection of the nomination in which the photo presented at the Photo Contest participates is carried out by the participant of the Photo Contest, while the work must correspond to the topic of the nomination.

The beauty of the surrounding world is reflected in exquisitely beautiful details, distinguished by the subtle beauty of their forms.

Images of natural phenomena from different seasons in all their diversity.

Each nomination can include works shot with both a camera and a mobile phone (smartphone).

The selection of the nomination in which the photo presented at the Photo Contest participates is carried out by the participant of the Photo Contest in the person of his legal representative, while the work must be done on the territory of Russia and correspond to the topic of the nomination.

Each participant of the Photo Contest, represented by his legal representative, has the right to submit no more than 25 works to the Photo Contest for Children.

The winners (children— photo authors) in each nomination of the Photo Contest for Children receive a cash prize of 100,000 (one hundred thousand) rubles, including personal income tax.

The application procedure for the Photo Contest

Registration of precinct Photo Contest participants — photo authors/ representing photo authors (hereinafter referred to as the participant) and their work takes place on the website of the Photo Contest photo.rgo.ru . After completing the registration procedure, a confirmation is sent to the e-mail specified during registration.

Registration of precinct Photo Contest for children"The most beautiful country through the eyes of children " — presented by non-modern photo authors and their work takes place on the website of the Photo Contest for Children photo-children.rgo.ru . After completing the registration procedure, a confirmation is sent to the e-mail specified during registration.

Each participant has the right to submit no more than 25 works to the Photo Contest.

The participant chooses the nomination for his work independently, but by the decision of the members of the Expert Commission or the Jury, the photo can be transferred to another nomination.

To participate in the Photo Contest, the images must be uploaded no later than March 31, 2025. with might and main. Uploaded works cannot be edited, replaced, or deleted.

Admission to the site in the Photo Contest

Requirements for the participant of the Photo Contest

Photographers from any country, without age restrictions, are allowed to participate.

The organizers (employees of the Executive Directorate of the Company, members of the management bodies of the Company), members of the Jury and the Expert Commission, as well as their close relatives are not entitled to participate in the Photo Contest.

A prerequisite for participation in the Photo Contest is the participant's compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, the rules of the Photo Contest described in these Regulations, and an ethical attitude towards cultural monuments, nature, animals, and their habitat.

Ethical requirements

The participants of the Photo Contest must comply with the following ethical requirements:

Photos of animals in captivity are not accepted for participation in the Photo Contest (with the exception of the rules of the Photo Contest for children prescribed in clause 7.2 of this Regulation) or images created using live bait;
-
In order to obtain the necessary frame, photographers should not disrupt the natural lifestyle of their subjects.;
-
Works should not mislead the viewer, mask or distort the real picture of nature and cultural objects.;
-
In order to obtain the necessary frame, the participants of the Photo Contest should not take any actions that result in harming nature, cultural monuments or disrupt the natural way of life of animals.

The WORLD OF ANIMALS Photo Contest for Children accepts photos taken in zoos, but only in those that belong to the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA, https://www.waza.org ) and/or the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA, http://earaza.ru ). Following this rule implies compliance with the Code of Ethics and the animal welfare obligations assumed by the above-mentioned organizations.

In the categories where portrait photography is provided, photographers must provide a model release (the model's consent to the publication and further use of the photograph by the photographer).

If the Organizer of the Photo Contest suspects that the photo submitted to the Photo Contest was obtained using cruel or illegal actions, including from an ethical point of view, such work will not be accepted for review.

Photo requirements

To participate in the Photo Contest, photos corresponding to the themes of the Photo Contest nominations taken exclusively on the territory of the Russian Federation earlier than 2021 are accepted.

Each nomination can include works shot with a camera. The exception is the nomination for a SMARTPHONE again.

The same photo cannot be presented in multiple nominations.

Photos that become finalists or winners of previous Photo Contests of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most beautiful Country" and "The most beautiful country through the eyes of children" are not accepted for the Photo Contest.

Photos with images of pets (cats, dogs, dogs, etc.) and houseplants are not accepted for the site in the Photo Contest.

The works submitted to the Photo Contest must be accompanied by information about the shooting (copyright title

In case of non-compliance with the requirements set out in clause 8.13, the Organizer of the contest immediately excludes the photo from the number of participants in the Photo Contest.

Works submitted to the Photo Contest in unacceptable quality, or works whose meanness cannot be verified, will not be accepted for inspection or will be disqualified.

Evaluation of works. Determining the winners of the Photo Contest. Prizes
-
The initial evaluation of the works submitted to the Photo Contest is carried out at the second stage of the project by members of the Expert Commission.
The list of members of the Expert Commission is published on the website of the Photo Contest. Each expert evaluates the photos on a five-point scale.

The members of the Expert Commission have the right to change their assessment during the entire pre-selection period.
-
The system of the Photo Contest website automatically selects works in each nomination that have received an average rating of 4 or higher from the members of the Expert Commission.
These works are held in the "Semi-final" stage.

At the "Semi-final" stage, the determination of the finalists from the number of photos that received the highest scores is carried out by the members of the Expert Commission in person, at a general meeting at the Headquarters of the Society in Moscow.
At the in-person meeting, the members of the Expert Commission select by open vote up to 10 (Ten) best photos in each of the nominations of the Photo Contest and up to 5 (Five) best photos in each of the nominations of the Photo Contest for Children.
Information about the photographs that took place in the final of the contest is included in the minutes of the meeting of the Expert Commission.

All the works included in the final are posted on a special page of the Photo Contest website for open voting among users of the Internet information and telecommunications network and determining the winner of the AUDIENCE AWARD.
The winner of the AUDIENCE AWARD is the work with the highest number of user votes.

The terms, conditions and duration of the open voting are determined by the Organizer of the Photo Contest and are published on the website of the Photo Contest photo.rgo.ru .

The organizer of the Photo Contest has the right to verify the accuracy of the open voting results.
If the facts of a deliberate artificial increase in the number of those who voted for specific photos are discovered, the Organizer of the Photo Contest has the right to change the decision on the winner of the vote.
The final decision on the winner in the AUDIENCE AWARD nomination is approved by the Jury of the Photo Contest.

The organizer of the Photo Contest sends a request to provide the source files (RAW) and other necessary information about the shooting parameters to the participants whose work has reached the final.

The selected photographs undergo additional verification of authenticity and compliance with competitive requirements (regarding compliance with ethical standards, the use of photo editors, etc.), verification by experts-geographers, ethnographers, historians, cultural scientists, biologists, as well as technical expertise.
If the photo successfully passes additional verification of authenticity and compliance with the competition requirements, it receives the status of a finalist in the Photo Contest.
If the photo does not undergo additional verification of authenticity and compliance with the competition requirements, it does not receive finalist status. The decision that the photo does not receive finalist status in the communication
with the fact that it has not passed the verification of authenticity and compliance with the competitive requirements, it is accepted by the Expert Commission of the competition by a simple majority of votes in the course of in-person or absentee voting.
If a photograph has received the status of a finalist, but subsequently circumstances have emerged indicating that the author of the photograph violated the competition requirements, the work may be deprived of the finalist status. The decision on exclusion from the number of finalists is made by the Expert Commission of the competition by a simple majority of votes in the course of in-person or absentee voting.

The organizer of the Photo Contest notifies the authors of the works that they have reached the "Semi-finals" and "Finals".

The final evaluation of the submitted works, which reached the final of the Photo Contest, is given by the Jury. The Jury members summarize the results of the Photo Contest and determine its winners: one winner, one winner of the 2nd place and one winner of the 3rd place in each nomination.

Each member of the Jury selects up to three (3) best works from among the finalists in each category of the Photo Contest and the Photo Contest for Children.
The Counting Commission (elected by the Jury members) summarizes the votes scored for each photo. The photo that receives the maximum number of votes according to the results of the Jury evaluation becomes the winner of the nomination.
The photo with the second most votes wins the 2nd place.
The photo with the third most votes is the winner of the 3rd place.
If the works have received an equal number of votes, an additional vote will be held in their relation.
If the situation has not changed during the additional voting, the winner of the nomination is determined by a repeat vote.

Based on the results of the work of the Jury members and the Counting Commission, a protocol is drawn up indicating the winner, as well as the holders of the 2nd and 3rd places in each nomination..

The Jury members have the right to transfer photos that have passed the final of the Photo Contest from one nomination to another.
-
The publication of photographs in the final of the Photo Contest is not a prerequisite for the work to be exhibited at exhibitions and published in the competition photo album.
-
The winners in each nomination of the Photo Contest receive a cash prize of 250,000 (Two hundred and fifty thousand) rubles, including personal income tax.

The winners of the 2nd place, the 3rd place and the finalists in each nomination of the Photo Contest receive the corresponding diploma of the Photo Contest.

A special "AUDIENCE AWARD" is awarded to a person who is determined by open voting on the website of the Photo Contest from among the finalists in all categories. The voting results are approved by the Jury of the Photo Contest.

The special prize "RESERVED RUSSIA" is awarded for the best shot taken in specially protected natural areas. The winner of the prize is determined by the partner of the competition, VTB Bank (PJSC).
The winner of the award receives a cash prize in the amount of 100,000 (One hundred thousand) rubles, including personal income tax.

The winner of the AUDIENCE AWARD Photo Contest receives a gift set from the Society.

The special prize "CAPTURED ON A CAMERA TRAP" is awarded for the best shot of animals in their natural habitat, obtained using a camera trap or an automatic photography system.
The winner of the prize is determined by the contest partners: ANO Amur Tiger Center and PJSC PhosAgro. The winner of the award receives a cash prize from PJSC PhosAgro in the amount of 100,000 (One hundred thousand) rubles, including personal income tax.

Special prize "NATURAL ART OBJECT". Photographs of the man-made object are taken, demonstrating the beauty of nature in unusual color and compositional solutions, and also evoking an emotional response from the viewer.
The partner is the Art, Science and Sport Foundation. The winner of the award receives a cash prize in the amount of 100,000 (One hundred thousand) rubles, including personal income tax.

License Agreement
-
By participating in the Photo Contest, the participant of the Photo Contest guarantees that:

Is the author/legal or other representative of the author of the photographs/videos submitted to the Photo Contest and has the exclusive right to them, with the exception of archival photographs (in relation to the LIVING ARCHIVE nomination), in relation to which the participant of the Photo Contest is not the author, but has an exclusive right or license, the scope of which is identical to the scope of rights, transferred to the Company in accordance with this section of the Regulations and allowing the participant of the Photo Contest to transfer the appropriate amount of rights to the Company;

The photos/videos do not violate the laws of the Russian Federation, do not contain offensive information, or information contrary to moral principles and universally recognized values.;

The content of the photos/videos does not violate the rights of third parties;
-
If third parties challenge the Company's rights to use photographs/videos in court or otherwise, the participant must participate in the proceedings on the Company's side and prove the legality of the Company's use of photographs/videos. videos;

If the participant is unable to prove the legality of the use and disposal of photographs/videos and the Company is held accountable, the participant must reimburse the Company within 10 (Ten) calendar days fromfrom the moment of entry into force of the decision of the court and/or other body considering the dispute, court costs, the amount to be recovered from the Company in favor of a third party, other expenses related to the court proceedings;

In the categories involving portrait photography, or in the case of people participating in the participant's videos, the participant has received a model release/consent (consent to the publication and further use of the photo/video by the participant);

In the event of claims against the Company by copyright and/or related rights holders, their authorized representatives or third parties regarding the use of photographs/videos by the Company, the participant undertakes to settle all disputes with;by third parties who have submitted relevant claims, and to compensate the damage caused to the Company in this regard.

The legal representative of the minor participant (the author of the photo/video) The participant of the Photo Contest guarantees that he is indeed the legal representative of the child— the author of the works submitted to the Photo Contest.

The copyright to the photos/videos submitted to the Photo Contest is reserved by the authors of the corresponding photos/videos.

By participating in the Photo Contest, the participant grants the Company the right (non—exclusive license) to use photographs/videos by the Company free of charge, as a voluntary donation to the Company's statutory activities. works), as well as their fragments, in ways provided for by the civil legislation of the Russian Federation, including:

making the work publicly available in such a way that any person can access the work from any place and at any time of their own choice (making it publicly available).

The participant of the Photo Contest grants the Public the right to publish photographs/videos, the right to use photographs/ videos in the ways provided for in the "License Agreement" section of these Regulations on the territory of all countries of the world.

The participant of the Photo Contest grants the Society the right to include photographs/videos or their fragments in the composition of any complex objects (films, other audiovisual works, theatrical and entertainment performances, multimedia products, databases, etc.), as well as the right to include photographs/videos or their fragments in the composition of any composite works. The participant of the Photo Contest understands, accepts and agrees that the exclusive right to complex and composite objects of intellectual activity specified in this paragraph, which may include photographs/videos, will belong to a Society that, in turn, has the right to transfer such a right to third parties.

The participant of the Photo Contest agrees that the Company may create any other independent works as a result of processing photos/ videos of the Photo Contest, including, but not limited to,
any audiovisual works, animation, advertising, promo, image, informational and promotional videos and clips, as well as other results of intellectual activity and means of individualization and materials.
At the same time, the Company will have the exclusive right in full to new results of intellectual activity and means of individualization, including the right to multiple (unlimited) use in full and/or partially (fragmentary) and multiple (unlimited) disposal.
on a paid and/or gratuitous basis with new results of intellectual activity and means of individualization, without limitation of territory and term, at its discretion, in any existing or possible future ways that do not contradict the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The Participant of the Photo Contest grants the Company the right to conclude sublicense agreements/agreements with third parties on paid or gratuitous terms within the limits of those rights granted to the Company in accordance with the "License Agreement" section of these Regulations. At the same time, the Company has the right to independently determine the cost of sublicenses and not provide the participant of the Photo Contest with reports on the use of photographs/videos and on concluded sublicense agreements/ agreements.
The participant of the Photo Contest understands, accepts and agrees that the Company is not responsible to the participants of the Photo Contest for the use of photos/videos by third parties who have obtained the rights to use photos/ videos in a manner sublicenses.

The Participant of the Photo Contest agrees that the Company has the right to place photos/videos of the participants of the Photo Contest on souvenir, printed and other products sold by the Company.

The term of the non—exclusive license, which grants the Company the right to use photographs/videos of the Contest participants, is the term of the exclusive right of the Contest participant to take a photo from the moment the photo is uploaded to the Contest website.

By uploading photos/videos to the Photo Contest website, the participants of the Photo Contest automatically consent to the use of their name and photos/videos submitted to the Photo Contest for the statutory purposes of the Company, as well as consent to;the use of photographs/videos in the ways provided for in the "License Agreement" section of these Regulations.

Uploading photos/videos to the Photo Contest website confirms that the participant understands all the terms of these Terms, understands the legal consequences of non-compliance with the terms of these Terms, agrees with the terms of these Terms, and also understands and agrees withthe amount of non-exclusive rights transferred to the Company in accordance with the "License Agreement" section of these Regulations.

All funds received from the commercial use of photographs/videos are directed by the Company strictly for the implementation of its statutory activities, including organizing and conducting a Photo Contest, popularizing the Photo Contest, exhibiting the Company, protecting and preserving rare species of animals.

Final provisions

When paying remuneration to the winners of the Photo Contest, the organizer of the Photo Contest performs the functions of a tax agency and supports the tax on an individual's income from the amount of the payment.

The site in the Photo Contest (the fact of registration on the website of the Photo Contest) is marked by:

Full and unconditional acceptance by the site of the services and rules of the Photo Contest established by the Organizer and agreement with the requirements established by the Organizer for the site in the Photo Contest;

Involve a participant in communication based on the solution of the services and rules of the Photo Contest established by the Organizer.;

Consent to the storage and processing of personal data of plots in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation On personal data;

Consent to the use by the Company of photographs submitted to the Photo Contest (website of the Photo Contest) for statutory purposes.

The decisions of the Expert Commission and the Jury are final and are not subject to revision.

The organizer of the Photo Contest has the right not to comment on the basis and reasons for making decisions by the Expert Commission and the Jury.

The Organizer is not responsible for the failure to perform its obligations improperly as a result of failures in telecommunications and energy networks, real malware, as well as unfair actions by third parties indicated for unauthorized access and/or withdrawal from the structure of the software and/or the hardware complex of the organizer.

The organizer of the Photo Contest reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the Photo Contest.
